With 14 years of experience working in the Women’s Health sector, we support and educate women in areas such as Relationships, Domestic and Family Violence, Sexual Assault both adult and childhood, Trauma, Anxiety and Depression, Grief, Self-empowerment, Self Esteem and Self Compassion, Life Stage Transitions in particular Menopause, Emotional Eating and Self- Care.

We support women to Reframe and Reclaim their own Self-identity, Personhood and their Lives.

Our passion is to support and empower women! Whether it is through simply listening and offering gentle guidance, to educational sessions around a particular topic or venturing into deeper therapy, we take an individual approach to each of our client’s unique needs and goals.

About Us

Meet the Counsellor

is a fully qualified Registered Clinical Counsellor experienced in practising counselling and group work in women’s health and wellbeing.

She holds a Graduate Diploma in Counselling after studying for several years in the discipline of Person Centred and Holistic Counselling and Groupwork. She has written and facilitated various groups on topics relevant to women’s health and wellbeing.

She loves to share what she has learnt through her studies, her years of counselling experience and her own life journey, in order to help improve the lives of women.

Utilising a holistic and person-centred approach, Julie is known for her focus on the therapeutic relationship between herself and her client, this being ‘central’ to successful therapy. She holds the client in a space of presence, nonjudgement, empathy, respect and positive regard. The woman is supported taking her in context to her ‘whole’ life, including her history and the intersection between her physical, emotional, mental and spiritual states.

She holds membership with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and is listed on the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ARCAP). Julie is also a Victims Services Accredited Approved Counsellor.

Services

Counselling

The type of session you may wish to have with our Counsellor can be flexible depending on your specific needs and your personal goals. You may wish to have a once-off shorter lighter conversation, offering guidance, education or perhaps referral or, longer and deeper therapy sessions which may go longer over an extended period of time.

Flexible lengths in sessions allow adaptability to different needs, time constraints and financial budgets.

We are currently offering Face to Face and Telehealth which is either online via Zoom or via telephone. Should you have any concerns regarding the use of technology for the sessions, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss.

Free 30 Minute Session

This is offered to those women who are either new to the experience of being supported by a counsellor or simply new to our service.

It has been our experience that many women do not come forward for support due to the fear of what they perceive counselling support to be, the lack of trust in another, the fear of being judged, feelings of shame, embarrassment and guilt, fear of lack of confidentiality, a low sense of worthiness to reach out for help and for lots more reasons.

This has sadly led to many women bottling up too much, remaining stuck in unhealthy, unhappy and unsafe life patterns and situations, often leading to using unhelpful and unhealthy coping strategies. For some women, it’s for many months, or years and for some…. a lifetime.
